Abbie has been with Bridgehaven since: July 2022

Background: BA in Communication Arts from Wartburg College and a teaching certification earned in Colorado. I worked for five years in county government, using my communications skills. The Lord then led me to pursuing a teaching certification while living in Colorado. There, I taught before transitioning to being at home for several years with my two children. I taught high school English in Cedar Rapids before accepting a role as prevention educator at Bridgehaven.

Life at home: Our family is busy! Our family (husband, Jason, and children Rowan and Ruby) enjoy being active outdoors, riding bikes and fishing regularly.

To me, Cedar Rapids is: parks and trails, shopping in Czech Village, my church, my neighbors

Why I’m passionate about what I do: I am passionate about seeing transformation through the classroom setting. Teaching and guiding others to be who they were created to be in Christ is my joy.
