Real change requires more than policy—it requires a transformation of hearts. Today, there is a growing perception that abortion has largely declined since the Heartbeat bill took effect—but that perception is misleading. The abortion industry has adapted, increasingly operating online and making access more discreet and harder to measure. Evidence suggests many Iowans are still seeking abortions. At Bridgehaven, we remain committed to meeting this challenge head-on. Our approach is different. We offer care that affirms both mother and child. We provide ultrasounds instead of abortion pills. We surround women with support instead of isolation. And we remind each woman that she is not alone—that she has options, resources, and people who care deeply about her future. Because lasting change will not come through legislation alone—it will come through hearts transformed, lives supported, and hope restored. Our work is far from finished.
