Chelsey has been with Bridgehaven since: August 2014

Background: I came to Bridgehaven as a nontraditional leader in nonprofit, especially ministry. With almost 15 years experience in telecommunications leadership and management, the Lord directed my path to Bridgehaven and I haven’t looked back since. I bring the ability to lead and grow strong teams of uniquely talented and skilled individuals, and provide a clear vision for the future. However, no matter what skills I bring to the table, they are nothing in comparison to how God has changed me (so far) through my experience at Bridgehaven. I am so very thankful to be here.

Life at home: I live in Cedar Rapids with my husband, Don, and our son, Max. We also have two adult children: Zach and Ashley, who is married to our son-in-law, Nate. And we have two grandchildren, Easton and William.

To me, Cedar Rapids is: I love Cedar Rapids for the people. You can walk around town flashing a smile and people will flash one right back. Strangers can quickly become friends and the connections between networks of people are small. Our family loves to visit Bever Park’s Old McDonald’s Farm and watch the Kernels play. Cedar Rapids has always been home and its an honor to serve the community.

Why I’m passionate about what I do: I am passionate about the work of Bridgehaven because it truly empowers us to reach beyond what we can see, beyond what we can feel, and beyond what we might know today. Bridgehaven offers hope in a world of fog, confusion, and turmoil. Within these walls is peace, within these walls is the love of Christ for all people.
