EWYL Announcement (12/29/2020)

Last week I tried to connect with everyone during shopping to share with you about our building update. We have secured a new building and began moving today. Due to the move and set up, we will be closed this week and next. We will open on January 11 at 4250 Glass Road NE for in-person food shopping. We will continue to follow our protocols as outlined below.

Classes will continue to start during their scheduled time.

EWYL Announcement (10/20/2020)

Greetings EWYL clients,

I wanted to share an updated fall plan regarding Client Support. Karin and I took a week in September to pause, pray, and plan. From our time together, we have created a plan to incorporate face-to-face interactions with our clients in a safe and healthy manner. We have utilized the online class and curbside food pick up model for 6 months and we have seen the burden that this has placed upon our relationships, communication, and transformational goals of our Earn While You Learn program. Our desire is that this plan will allow us to be on mission with relationships and education.

Effective Monday, November 2: Personal, face-to-face shopping for EWYL clients offered Monday-Thursday, 10am-4pm and Friday, 10am-1pm at The ROC (1202 10th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401).

What to expect:

• Upon entering The ROC, check in with us at our health station to get a temp check, health screening questions, mask, and hand sanitizer. All shoppers must check in at the health station prior to shopping. Those that pass the health screening will be invited to shop. Please wear your mask and practice social distancing during shopping.
• We will have an open shopping format for EWYL clients. (No children, please.) Shopping will take place Monday-Thursday, 10am-4pm and Friday 10-1pm. At this time, there is no need for assigned shopping times. We will allow 3 clients in shopping/community area at a time – 2 shopping, 1 in waiting/community space.
• Online class attendance is still an expectation for shopping. If you are unable to attend class, there will be no shopping for that week.
• Follow the signage for shopping flow and direction.
• Cleaning procedures: baskets and tables will be cleaned frequently.
